I'm especially excited about this post because I'm also posting before and after photos my own Loyal Customer. She has seen significant results and it's so encouraging. That Crazy Body Wrap Thing

So what is that crazy body wrap thing that I've been talking about on my Facebook page? Does it really work? How does it work?

These are questions that everyone is asking me so I thought I would write a post about it all. Whether you're wanting to try one, curious or skeptical about the body wraps, read on...

One of the things that I love about the applicator is that the lotion on the wrap is made with natural ingredients. Some of the ingredients include: Green tea, Jojoba, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, and Ivy

You leave the wrap on for a minimum of 45 minutes. After the first wrap you can sleep with the remaining wraps on for better results. The only reason why you leave the first one on for 45 minutes is because they want to make sure you don't have a reaction to the ingredients or botanicals. Very few people have that happen. They recommend using the wraps every 72 hours but some Loyal Customers of mine use one wrap per week. It depends on each persons preference and how fast you want to see the results.

Young Living Facial Wash Tutorial Video

Here is my first video. Finally! I've been wanting to post this for a long time. After figuring out how to use the Movie Maker software, tweaking, tweaking and more tweaking, it's finally up and running. A lot of people have been asking how to use essential oils to cleanse and moisturize their face so I created a video tutorial that shows you how easy it is to do this. This routine that I use is the ONLY way I cleanse and moisturize my face on a daily basis! It is great for aromatherapy and also helps blemishes and is anti-aging.

What's for Dinner and Giveaway Winner!

Today was a long day of catching up on laundry and creating more Etsy crafts. I create Bird Mobiles for children's rooms.

After assembling another mobile and coming up with more designs, I went for a 3 mile run. After I run, especially later in the day the last thing I want to do is cook because I'm tired! So I put together a quick, nutritious dinner that took no time at all.

Shrimp Bowl

Ingredients:

• handful of spinach
• 1 cup of quinoa
• 1 cup or more of raw shrimp
• 1/2 of cucumber
• 2 minced garlic cloves
• olive oil
• 1/2 of lemon
• salt and pepper
  

Directions:

Cook quinoa according to directions on box. Saute shrimp with 4 tbs or more of olive oil, 2 minced garlic cloves, dash of salt and pepper, and juice of 1/2 of lemon. Cook shrimp until they turn pink. Usually 5-7 minutes.

After shrimp and quinia are cooked, put in bowl with spinach and cucumber. Mix well and enjoy! You can substitute cucumber and spinach for any other veggie of your choice. Red or green peppers and broccoli are other good choices.

Serving Size: 2

The Benefits of Lemon Water and a Giveaway!

Do you put lemon wedges in your water?

I’ve noticed a lot of people like to put lemon in their water when they are at restaurants but why do they do this? It adds flavor to water and people like the taste. But did you know that there are a lot of health benefits to drinking lemon water? Not only does it taste good but it’s good for you!

Here are a few of the health benefits to drinking lemon water:

• Helps fight disease
• Builds immunity
• Balances your pH level
• May be beneficial to your skin
• Powerful antioxidant
• Detoxifies your body and filters out toxins
• Stimulates liver enzymes
• May help speed up weight loss

Those are just a few benefits from drinking lemon water. The only problem I run into is that I have to keep buying lemons and I’m never home to use them before they go bad. My solution…Lemon Essential Oil from Young Living.

Here are other ways you can use Lemon Oil:

• Use 1–2 drops of lemon essential oil to remove gum, oil, grease spots, glue or adhesive, and crayon from most surfaces.

• Massage lemon essential oil into cellulite to help improve circulation and eliminate waste from cells.
• Inhale lemon essential oil or place a few drops on a cotton ball to replenish your mind, body, and spirit.
• Soothe corns, calluses, or bunions by rubbing lemon essential oil on the affected area morning and evening.
• Add 10–15 drops of lemon essential oil to a gallon of carpet cleaning solution to help pull out stains, brighten carpet and rugs, and leave a fresh smell in the room.
• Place a few drops of your favorite citrus essential oil on a cotton ball and put in the refrigerator to help eliminate odors.
• Add lemon essential oil to your morning tea or breakfast shake for a refreshing pick-me-up.
• Use it when cooking meals.
• I use Lemon Oil in my water because it adds flavor and it’s good for my body. It comes in a 15mL bottle and is so easy to travel with. Only one drop of oil in my water adds so much flavor because it’s extremely concentrated. One kilo of oil is equivalent to 3,000 Lemons! So use it sparingly. I also use it on my face, in my breakfast shakes, and put in on my baked fish.

Please note: If you put lemon oil your water I recommend using a glass cup instead of plastic since lemon may leach the plastic from the bottle or cup into your water. Also, if you apply the lemon to your skin, do not go out in direct sunlight for 72 hours since it may bleach your skin. I apply it on at night and I haven’t had any problems.

Favorite Pinterest Recipes

Pinterest is my new obsession! It’s truly addicting. You can find anything from crafting ideas, decorating tips, to how to fold a fitted sheet! But what I like most about Pinterest is finding ideas, encouragement, and ways to live a healthier balanced life.  

Pinterest is so convenient for those that travel especially if you have a smart phone. While I’m on a trip I use the Pinterest app to find recipes to cook when I get home. My entire planning and shopping list is taken care of before I make it home so less stress and more time to enjoy my days off and enjoy a delicious, healthy meal.

Here are a few of my favorite Pinterest recipes that I found…

Easy Crunchy Mustard-Baked Salmon

Ingredients

2 slices high quality white sandwich bread, crusts removed, torn into rough chunks.

2 boneless skinless salmon filets, about 6 ounces each

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened, plus extra for the salmon

1/2 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon whole grain mustard

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

Directions:

1.Preheat the broiler to high and adjust rack to 6 inches below the element. Pulse bread in the bowl of a food processor until coarse crumbs are created, about 10 to 12 one-second pulses. Season the salmon with salt and pepper. Set aside.

2.In a medium bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon butter, both mustards, and thyme, pinching the mixture together so the butter is incorporated and the mixture sticks together. Season with salt and pepper.

3.Spread the bottom of each fillet of salmon with a thin layer of butter. Preheat a medium skillet over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Add salmon buttered-side down and cook without moving until a nice crust has formed, about 2 minutes. Pile the crumbs on the salmon, then transfer to the broiler. Broil until the crumbs are crunchy and browned, 4 to 5 minutes. Serve immediately.

Although making your own bread crumbs is best I didn’t have time for this step so I used store bought bread crumbs and it still tasted really good!

Here’s another one of my favorite recipe finds...

Sweet Corn & Quinoa with Honey Lemon Vinaigrette

Serves 3-4

Ingredients:

1 cup dry quinoa

2 cups water

2 Tablespoons butter

2 green onions, sliced

2 ears sweet corn

salt & pepper

For the Honey Lemon Vinaigrette:

1 Tablespoon lemon zest

2 Tablespoons lemon juice

1 garlic clove, microplaned or finely minced

1 Tablespoon honey

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

1.Rinse quinoa thoroughly under running water in a fine mesh sieve. Combine with water in a saucepan, bring to a boil, then place a lid on top and cook until the water is absorbed and the quinoa is tender, about 15 minutes.

2.Meanwhile, combine all the ingredients for the Honey Lemon Vinaigrette in a mason jar or small bowl, then shake or whisk to combine. Set aside.

3.Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add green onions and sweet corn, season with salt & pepper, then saute until corn is tender, about 3 minutes. Add in cooked quinoa and Honey Lemon Vinaigrette, then toss thoroughly to combine. Taste, add more salt & pepper if necessary, then serve.

For an added lemon flavor try Young Living’s Lemon Essential Oil for either recipe. One or two drops is all you need. Yum!

Sweet Corn & Quinoa and Salmon go very well together and they’re so easy to make. Most importantly, it is a healthy meal!
